Abstract

Purpose: This paper examines how research on consumer minimalism has evolved. In this study, minimalism is treated as a set of core values, including mindful consumption and environmental awareness.

Design and methodology: This study reviews the data from Scopus. It analyzes the 1297 documents between the time span of 2020-2025 (partial 2025). The bibliometric methods R Studio(R 4.5.1) and VOSviewer (1.16.18) are used to find out who the key authors are, which journals are most productive, which countries, most cited documents, and most relevant keywords.

Findings: This study finds that Minimalism and happiness are interrelated. People can go towards sustainability by fulfilling their personal motives, such as financial and emotional. The transformation from materialistic things to non-materialistic ones gave satisfaction to consumers.
