Instructions to Authors

Manuscript Types:

  • Research Articles (4,000–7,000 words)

  • Field Reports / Case Studies (2,000–4,000 words)

  • Reviews (up to 6,000 words)

  • Book Reviews (1,000–1,500 words)

Formatting Requirements:

  • Submit in Word format

  • Title, author names, affiliations, emails

  • Structured abstract (150–250 words) + 4–6 keywords

  • APA 7 citation style

  • High-resolution, numbered visuals

Submission Process:

  1. Register/log in via the EDM OJS portal

  2. Upload manuscript + cover letter

  3. Confirm originality/ethics statements

  4. Receive acknowledgment and review timeline

Editorial Support:
Non-native English speakers may request basic language editing and formatting via Practical Action Publishing

Peer Review Process

EDM utilizes a double‑blind peer review approach, ensuring confidentiality and academic rigor:

  1. Initial editorial screening for scope and standards

  2. Two or more anonymous expert reviewers assigned

  3. Review timeline: Typically 3-5 weeks

  4. Reviewer feedback yields one of four decisions:

    • Accept

    • Minor revisions

    • Major revisions

  5. Revision phase: Authors submit adjustments with responses

  6. Final decision by Editor-in-Chief based on reviews
